    The official bird of British Colombia is the Stellar Jay.  The Stellar Jay became the official bird of British Colombia on December 17, 1987.

    The stellar jay is a beautiful bird that is blue and black in color. It is found all over the providences of British Colombia. It is a very lively, intelligent, and beautiful bird. The people of British Colombia actually voted to make this bird their official bird.

    This bird grows to be approximately eleven inches in length.  It has a black, sturdy beak that it uses to peck on wood and other hard surfaces. It can have a speckled belly and a beautiful dark blue body. Its main colors are black and blue. Its wings and tail have black bars and it has black legs and feet.

    One of its closest relatives is the Blue Jay. It can also be known as a Pine Jay or a Mountain Jay.
