Can You Explain The Differences Between: Another, Other, The Other And The Second?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

I'm not really sure what you are asking but, basically, Another and other mean  about the same but are used differently in sentences. For ex:  Tell me another story. (i.e. Tell me "one more" story. Or Tell me "an additional" story.)  and (You have two balls; you take one and I'll take the other.)  "other" is the "additional" ball you have, or "extra" ball you have.
I'm really confused about "the other" and "the second", maybe we could get some other help on the second one...(no pun intended).
I have to say this is an excellent question!!!!!!
