Just recently Tina Tuner was ranked #2 on VH1's list of the Greatest Women of Rock N Roll. Her career has spanned almost half a century and she won accolades for her phenomenal music.
In the year 1972, she won a Grammy Award for 'Best R&B Group Performance, Vocal or Instrumental' for "Proud Mary" with then partner Ike Turner.
In 1985, her hit single "What's Love Got to Do with It?" got her a couple of Grammys. These included, 'Record of the Year' which she shared with Terry Britten, the 'Best Female Pop Vocal Performance'.
She also won a Grammy of 'Best Female Rock Vocal Performance' for her track "Better Be Good to Me" in 1985.
In 1986 she won a Grammy award for 'Best Female Rock Vocal Performance' for her track "One Of The Living".
She got another Grammy for 'Best Female Rock Vocal Performance' for her song; "Back Where You Started" in the year 1987.
In 1989 she was again awarded the 'Best Female Rock Vocal Performance' Grammy award for "Live In Europe".
In the October of 1999 Tina Turner received the Lifetime Achievement prize at the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards that were held at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
