I think 4d as a way of defining the shape of, as well as the location of an object or event at any given time. So the 4 dimensions are length, width, depth and time relative to some start time.

Virtual reality, it seems to me, is the actual observation of an object or an event as modeled in 3 dimensional space (again: Length, width and depth). If we select a start point and an end point and the simulate the movement from the start point to the end point, maybe we have added a 4th element to the observation, time. Or/and maybe a 5th, location.

We will never experience 4D. Virtual reality is 3D. Just in your own created world.

4d is like the types that you will find in the cinemas or in the amusement parks but in virtual reality, it is mostly in computer games or educational centers, where they use virtual environment to give you a in-depth knowledge on certain stuffs through hands-on exploration
