Is It A Law That A Tenant Cannot Touch Another Tennents Clothes In The Laundry Room?

In my building, we have one dryer and one washer. I removed another tennents clothes from the washer, placed on top of the dryer so I could start my laundry. The landlord of the building said it was against the law to do such a thing. I've never heard of this before and I've lived in a few apartment buildings. Is this even true?

No there is no kind of legality involved in it. However it is about etiquette. You should have asked the other person before you wanted to dry your clothes. It would have made things  a lot easier for both of you.

Well, if that's a law, there are a lot of lawbreakers in apartments where I've lived.  As long as you don't intentionally damage the clothes in any way, it's not against the law, and I think your landlord is either not very bright, or he was jerking you around.

What your landlord should be doing is putting up signs to remind tenants to remove their laundry from the washer or dryer promptly.  He should add that people may remove the clothing if it's not removed by the owner of the clothing in a timely manner.

What or is there a law about smoking cigarettes outside the apartment building.
I live upstairs in a 4 plex, and they smoke outside every window I own, my family does not smoke, we are forced to smell the smoke or close the windows on 100 degree days. we roast in our apartment. What can be done?
