I use wireless headphones to watch TV at home when my husband is in bed asleep but recently i have found that i am picking up interference (sounds like someone's radio) and its really annoying... How do i stop this - (Note: I am sitting only about 1 meter away from signal with nothing blocking the way).

Depends upon the technology used to transmit the signal. If it is RF (Radio Frequency) then the signal is susceptible to interference from other RF devices in the area.  (Cordless phones, wireless networks, wireless video transmitters, etc.) Especially if those devices are on a similar frequency. Some devices have a range of up to 300 feet and will penetrate walls, doors and furniture.

A much better technology is IR (Infrared). With IR the signal travels on a beam of light from the transmitter to the receiver. The transmitter and receiver must be in the line of sight and usually no more than 30 feet apart. IR devices are pretty much not susceptible to interference. To eliminate the interference purchase an IR wireless headset.

That explains it nicely. They are Phillips RF headphones i believe. Will check out your suggestion. Thanks.
