Many theories exist concerning the scientific basis for the melting of the ice caps at the poles of the earth. The most credible of which are supported by the work's of former Vice-President Al Gore and his group of scientists in his documentary 'An Inconvenint Truth'.
The primary reason for melting ice caps is the accumulation of Green House Gases and their cumulative effect in heating the earth as evidenced by melting ice caps, this is also called Global Climate Change.
The primary gases involved in Global Climate Change are methane, carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides, chloroflourocarbons.

To anyone who is reasonable in their thinking these images provide undeniable proof that Global Climate Change is an immanent Global problem, in short Global Climate Change cannot be ignored as the fate of our planet depends on reversing the damage caused by Global Climate Change, we are over heating our planet.
