How Do I Remove My EGR Valve On My 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis?

The check engine light on my car indicates a faulty EGR Valve and should be removed and checked.

    You should check it before you remove it. Crank the car, get a 12 volt test light and follow the vac line from the egr valve to the egr solenoid and stick the test light in the connectors on both sides. One side should lite up bright, the other should shut the motor off. If it does then your sensor is bad. If it makes the motor run poorly but does not shut the motor off the passages may be clogged or bad valve. If nothing happens either no vacuum or bad solenoid.
