Why Do I Get Fatter When I Exercise?

This summer I wanted to be fit so I decided to exercise. Instead of getting muscular I got fatter.

    You must also adjust your diet,I'm not sure what you mean by fatter,does that mean you were heavier by the scales or you had more fat showing than you did before you started,but anyway I can say this don't weigh yourself often go a month at a time,because these are the things that discourage people,keep it up adjust your diet and weigh in once each month,hope this helps you to achieve your goal....

    By fatter, I mean fat started to show up. I also ate the same things as I did before I started to exercise.

      Muscle weighs more than fat and takes up less space. So you could actually gain weight and lose a dress size when getting fit. If you determine your weight by the scales, and your size by the measuring tape, you should be able to see a positive difference, unless you also ate more while you were exercising. Often we focus more on fat  when we are wanting to loose it. Is it possible that you may just now be noticing fat that was there before you began to concentrate on your shape?
