Charlottesville is a very independent city, which is situated inside the boundaries of Albemarle County in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. This city is said to have been named after Princess Sophia Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the wife of King George III of England. It is also the county seat of Albemarle CountyGR6. In the year 2004 this city was ranked as one of the best place to live in. This city is also very well known as the home of the University of Virginia, which was founded by Thomas Jefferson. The capital is served by Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport, Greyhound, and by Amtrak.
The Paramount Theatre is one of the major attractions here for various events such as Broadway shows and concerts.
