What Are The Major Presidential Election Events?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Presidential elections in the US are held after every 4 years. The main events before the Election Day are: Pre-Primary campaigns, Primaries and caucuses. After these, there are Party Conventions which take place in different states of the country for every Party. Then there are Presidential and Vice-Presidential debates which also take place in different states on set dates. In these debates, the candidates address a topic and also answer any questions raised by the audience.  After the elections are held and the voters cast their votes, the members of the Electoral College meet and cast their votes for President and Vice-president. After this the votes of the Electoral College are tallied in front of the Congress. After this is done, there is the Inauguration Day, the day on which the President takes charge of his office.
