Heathcliff is a character of the comic strip of the same name conceptualised and executed by George Gately and was introduced in the year 1973. The central character, Heathcliff, is a cat of an eponymous nature. This strip is now done by Peter Gallagher, Gately's nephew and appears in over a thousand publications.

Heathcliff is a mischievous cat by nature and can be seen doing various antics which invariably tick off the manager of the local fish store as well as the milk man.

He is often seen playing with fellow cartoon character called as Iggy. Heathcliff also shares a complicated relationship with his owner and lands in trouble every time for his adventurous ways. He is also no one to apologise for the mess that he creates, which is invariably more times than less.
