Why Was Julius Caesar Assassinated?

Just want to know why he was assassinated

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The main reason given by Brutus, Casca and other conspirators was that Caesar, in taking on so much power, was destroying rome's republican ideals and turning it into a tyranny. His military adventures, which were not approved of by all the senate, may have been a factor too. You can read an account of the assassination by a Roman historian here.
