How Do You Change The Fuel Pump On A 1995 Chevy Blazer?

Answer Question

First, jack the back for the truck up so you can get at it (or back it up on skids). Then remove the skid plate that covers the gas tank. After that you need to take a piece of plywood or something strong/long and jack it up under the gas tank using your floor jack. After its securely supporting the tank (don't go to much or you'll crush the tank) start undoing the straps from the back to the front. After the tank is loose, SLOWLY lower it down to the point where you can reach up and disconnect the fuel lines and the electrical wire. After that you can lower it to the ground and remove the in tank fuel pump.

Tip: If you can, try to syphon the fuel out with a pump before you drop the tank. Makes it much lighter. If you cant then make sure you have 1 or 2 people around to balance the tank when you lower it.
