A safari refers to a trip made by tourists to the continent of Africa. Traditionally speaking, it pertains for the big-game hunt. The big-game hunt refers to five large animals that are sought for hunting in the African continent; like the African elephant, the lion, the black rhinoceros, the leopard and the African elephant. In modern times, the concept of 'safari' has shifted to watching and photographing wild animals and other forms of wild life in a 'safari holiday.'

In a safari expedition, there is a certain amount of style or theme attached like khaki clothing, animal skins, jeeps and pith helmets. A safari is commonly known as a trip or journey for sight-seeing purposes.
