You should start preparation for whelping. After 50 days of pregnancy, take your dog to vet for abdominal ultrasound to know any defect and litter size. This will help you in preparation of whelping. Make whelping box well before time. Signs of labor starts 8-48 hours before true labor. Labor in dogs can be divided in to 3 stages. During first stage of labor in dogs, uterine contraction starts and dog can show symptoms like pacing and restlessness. This condition can last for 6-24 hours. Second stage of canine labor is characterized by delivery of puppies. Then there will be a resting period that can be of maximum 2 hours before next pup is delivered and this continue until all puppies are born. This can take 2-6 hours depending upon size of litter. Third stage of labor is characterized by expulsion of placenta. This can take 15 minutes to 4 hours after delivery.

If your dog does not give birth after 70 days of pregnancy then it is medical emergency. If gap between two delivery of two puppies is more than 2 hours then it is also medical emergency. If your are not a professional breeder then I will advise you not to have whelping at home. You should take her to vet.
