    Rugby is a very well-liked sport in Dublin. It is indeed an exciting game. Rugby refers to sports emerged from a common form of football. The legendary myth about the origin of Rugby football-a young man named William Webb Ellis "took the ball in his arms and ran with it"; the action of run-away taking ball in arms originated the distinctive feature of this great game.

    Irish people eagerly prop up the mature and international rugby. Dublin being the capital city is the hub of Rugby in Ireland since its introduction in this part of Europe. A very special attention is given to this sport, as it is an energetic sport and flourishing day by day. Dublin has produced the world's finest players of Rigby in last few years. Today, the most famed of these, is the current Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll who plays for Blackrock and Leinster. This can be seen when Ireland are playing an important international match and the city comes to a halt.


    Dublin city has a lot of Rugby clubs of International standards. These clubs provide instruction, training, work outs, skills and drills and many more facilities to its members. These are; Bective Rangers FC, Blackrock College, De La Salle, Dublin University, Lansdowne F.C., Old Belvedere, Old Wesley , Skerries RFC, St.Marys College, University College Dublin, Wanderers F.C. Rugby Club.
