How Do You Repair Your PS2?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are a number of problems that may have occurred with your play station and for each of these there are a number of different steps that may have to be taken. You may have to clean the laser, adjust the voltage of the laser, adjust the height or out right replace it, you may have to align your CD tray, test the fuses to see if they are ok, de-solder them in case replacement is required and re-solder new ones, trouble shoot problems with the power supply etc. There are detailed guides of how to repair these problems on your own available on the internet. Most of these guides cost money, from $3 to $20. Even eBay has some for offer. Try to contact an official Sony play station service centre in your area. Several parts may be covered by a warranty. Try to store your play station in a cool, dry and dust free environment.
