There's a video I'd like to keep for a while......as you can tell, I don't know a lot about this type of thing!!!

For youtube, you can use Youtube downloader Or You can also use Download them all software to download most video from Internet.
You can also bookmark the page where that video is available and can access it whenever there you want to watch it. Usually websites also offer to E-mail video(If I knew website I could help you even more) but then sometimes videos get replaced or their link(received via E-mail) gets invalid on website's decision. So, downloading video from above links can be very useful to keep it for longer time.
