All you can do is live according to God commandment, have a relationship with him and stay on your knee. And pray.

Having a personal relationship with Christ is the major thing we have to do to go to heaven. And, in this, Christ expects us to live godly & holy lives and pray for our sins to be forgiven everyday. Some people believe they can carry a Christian banner at church but go to the bars and sleep around and sin part time. To be a follower of Christ these things have to cease. If you have a child, do you want that child whom you love, going out and committing crimes and smearing your family name? Would it delight you to know your child was on the evening news as a drunkard that just killed several people or name was blurted out on national television for a prostitution scandal for the whole world to know about? Well, that's what Christians do to god. They smear his name by their example. It's time to stop the games with god, and get with his program.
And, we also need to ask god to forgive our generational sins of our forefathers & mothers, so that satan will not have anything on us to be paid from past generational sins. Please read the book of Daniel to see how he asked the people to do this very thing.
Spending time in the bible, praying, and researching things is what god expects of us. Jesus said, "I'm the way, the truth and the life." So, if you pray for "Truth," he will certainly show you all you need to know. Churches and religions can really mess a person up if not careful. Yes, the ones doing good deeds to help the hungry and homeless, and things like that, are to be commended. But, all religions have what is called "Dichotomy," which means, they have truths and errors within that one religion. Anyone who gets sucked into a religion is going to be very disappointed later. And, anyone who calls upon another deity or angel or any other spirit being to confide or pray with, is being deceived and will pay the consequences later.
Read the Bible, especially the New Testament and learn of Christ's character. He wasn't pompous and proud and had a totally different character traits than the leaders in the synagogue. And, a major key to our getting into heaven is this: "Father, thy will be done." Jesus prayed this in the garden, for his will to submit to the Father in heaven. If we don't follow this same example he set, we will get off track and not even know what our purpose on earth is. We'll be told all sorts of things by a church to do, but won't be on track with god and HIS WILL! If we truly ask for our purpose on this earth and seeks god's face earnestly, a giant treasure chest of great things will open up to us. In this treasure chest is our calling, our purpose. I've found mine and am very fulfilled.

U mentioned praying to angels, what about saints? Asking favors of them is a common thing in the Catholic faith. Why do u say u will be punished for it. ? What if u r religious but not Christian, what happens to their soul?
Nowhere in the bible does it state that we are to pray to DEAD saints. It says to pray with one another, OTHER SAINTS that are living, not dead. And, Bible also states that when we pray, we are to go to a private place and pray to our heavenly father and Jesus. Bible states that Jesus is always making intercession for us, through prayers. Any other spiritual being to communicate with is very dangerous. These OTHER beings are counterfeits, wolves, and only want to turn person away from truth.
Nowhere in Bible does it state we pray to any other being, ONLY Jesus and the Father. Yes, it does say we pray with the saints, but these are LIVING SAINTS, not dead! It doesn't matter what a denomination teaches, if they're leading people to pray to any other deity, dead person, angel, whatever, they are leading souls astray. Jesus again is the way, the truth, the life, & he's the ONLY DOOR into heaven!
