What Does It Mean When Someone Says That 'We Are In No Position To Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth'.

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Basically this phrase means that if somebody offers you something really good with no catches you should take it and not ask any questions. Often in life people are offered things which they think are too good to be true and often they are genuine. When you do start to question it the term 'never look a gift horse in the mouth' is sometimes used.

It could also be that something which you have been given is not exactly to your taste even though it was free. If you do start complaining the term 'never look a gift horse in the mouth' could also be used.

Overall it is generally a gift that you get for nothing and the person giving you that gift is know as the gift horse.
