    Proteins basically are big organic compounds which are made up of amino acids set in a linear chain and connected to each other via peptide bonds among carboxyl and amino groups of neighbouring amino acid residues.

    Proteins are a vital section of all living beings and contribute in every process which takes place within a cell. When an individual consumes foods which contain proteins, the digestive juices present in the stomach and intestine start functioning rapidly. Proteins are useful to all the life forms, they offer support to Antigens as well as Antibodies, which are important sections of the immune system. They also supply energy to the functional parts of the body like, muscles.

    Proteins are the main actors inside a cell, said to be carrying out the functions specified by the information encoded in genes.
