What Is So Good About The Television Series 'House'?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

House is currently running on Thursday nights in the UK on Channel 5. It has become increasingly popular since the last series and now has quite a following.

House has weekly episodes where grumpy, sharp and ill-mannered Dr. Gregory House and his co-workers try to figure out what mystery illness is ailing their patient. This is threaded together by a series of ongoing storyline involving the main characters.

There are a number of reasons why this television programme is good. The acting is very impressive. Hugh Laurie gives fine performance as Gregory House. One of the most impressive in his career.

Although we don't understand all the medical jargon which is thrown out during the show, we grasp just enough to fully understand what is going on. This is good writing. The dialogue is paced well and never dumbed down.

The nature of the characters is something which hooks a lot of people. Dr. House is not really a person you would ever like to have to meet. He is rude, politically incorrect, abrupt and sometimes just plain nasty. but we love him. Part of this shock value really appeals to us.
