Can A Landlord In TN Issue A Rental Increase And A Late Fee Increase In The Same Month It Is To Be Paid? If So Is There A Limit On The Late Fee Increase?
After the 1st of Jan. My husband and I received a notice that our landlord was increasing our lot rent and they were changing the late fee from a flat rate to $5.00 a day and it was already in effect. We live in TN, and were wondering if this is legal? What can we do to fight it, if it is not legal. They also informed us we need to sign a new lease. We have not done this yet.

You need to type in your search engine tn renting law i live in tn and i am renting but not under contract just month to month. I'm late sometimes but i never get charged a late fee. Don't sign that paper until you check the law you may just be putting your foot in your mouth good luck
