When Will Pennsylvania Get November Extension?

Answer Question

We have to wait for the Unemployment Office in Harrisburg to mail us forms.  That shouldn't take too long, in my opinion, but they have to print them with the bar codes on them (to match our information) first.  After we complete the forms and mail them in, it may take 2-3 weeks for that portion to begin receiving payment (because it's another round of a million people mailing forms).  I am personally hopeful that things move along very quickly.  Christmas is coming and bills need paid.

If you're on Unemployment, join a credit union for $25 (if possible, I know it's hard).  Then, see about getting a loan for Christmas with a low payment rate...borrow enough to pay the first 6 months of the loan right after you get it...to give yourself some breathing room.  That's what I do.

Also, check into part-time work, to increase your income while receiving unemployment.

For those of us mailing the forms in for the weekly job searches, don't send it any other way than regular mail.  The UC office has told me repeatedly that sending it overnight/express will tamper with the delivery and it may get returned.

Keep copies of the notice when you exhaust benefits and then take that directly to a public assistance office and apply for welfare.  Screw being proud, just do it.  You worked to pay into it and the unemployment fund...so you may as well benefit from it.  There are thousands of people on social security disability collecting checks who have never worked a day in their lives!!  Yes, I'm serious...my mother in law is about to get it and I object to it every day.  She's lazy, disrespectful, and woefully inept at being a decent person, but she qualifies for free food stamps, health insurance, cash assistance, and now social security disability.  It's ridiculous.  That's why I say don't worry about being proud...be proud to be a real American who has worked your rear end off, slept little, provided for yourself and your family, paying taxes to provide for your country and those who illegally live here and collect welfare.  You deserve this help.

Good luck to you all.  Anyone that reads this post must be in bad shape, so I offer you my sincerest hopes that things will work out for the better soon.  Merry Christmas to you and God Bless.  (No religiousness behind that, just a sincere hope).

Thank you for your comment. The job market is awful and i just had a son and our rent is past due . Normally 850.00 the late fee is 100.00 then they sent a letter of eviction to us and we have to pay a 450.00 legal fee totaling 1399.99. I need this unemployment bad because we will be out on the street. They make it hard to catch up with this. I worked my whole life and this is just a bad timing for me and 1,000,000 others . Thanks for the information and good luck to you as well. GOD BLESS.
