Hand-sewing is the most common of all. It is still in use for completing and mending clothes. Most of the homes have Sergers now a day and they are becoming more popular. These Sergers are as compare to traditional sewing machine don't have all the functions. Due to this reason people generally go for traditional sewing machine and later on they buy Sergers. Serger prices are expensive than the traditional sewing machine.

When sewing machines are not invented people use needle and thread by stitching purposes. Even now a day people prefer to repair the garments by hand-sewing (using threads and needle).

For sewing large number of clothes people prefer to use sewing machines. By the use of these machines work finishes at much faster speed and replaces hand-sewing. There are both types of machines electrical as well as manual. Electric machines are common and made life much easier.
