Founded by Boers (Afrikaners) the South African town of Ladysmith is a popular tourist destination. Located between the major cities of Johannesburg and Durban, you can book in advance for a number of accommodations. With alternatives that include Bed and Breakfasts, Guesthouses and lodges there are options to suit every budget. This town is also Joseph Shabalala's hometown, the founder of the 'Ladysmith Black Mambazo', popular singing group. The other important town of Ladysmith is the one across the Georgia Strait, a little to the west of British Columbia.
