I have a cockapoo. I had heard you were going to make the cockapoo an AKC breed. Is this true?

It is possible that one day the AKC will recognize the cockapoo as a "real" breed. This process however takes many years and many generations of cockapoos need to be breed before it happens. This cross breed is pretty popular nowadays so I would expect the AKC will at some point recognize it and set a specific breed standard. For what its worth, the AKC recognized the Jack Russell Terrier only within the last decade and that breed has been around for many many years!
