Who Is Johnny Depp?

Johnny Depp is a famous film actor.

He was born in Kentucky on the 9th June 1963 and named as John Christopher Depp II. He is of Cherokee, Irish and German descent.
Depp was never the academic type and left school at the age of 15. His original dream was to become a rock-star, but after his ex-wife introduced him to Nicholas Cage, Depp became interested in acting and made his film début with 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' in 1984.

Depp has enjoyed incredible success working with the director Tim Burton, starring in such films of his as 'Ed Wood', 'Edward Scissorhands' and 'Sleepy Hollow'. He is often thought of as playing dark, serious roles.

However his recent portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean' is quite the opposite and shows how multi talented Depp is.

In his personal life, Depp's first marriage ended in 1985. He subsequently became engaged to Jennifer Grey, Kate Moss and Winona Ryder before settling down with his partner Vanessa Paradis. They have two children together and have chosen not to marry.
