    Lake Huron is the second largest of the Great Lakes of North America. Great Lakes constitute a chain of lakes bordering eastern-central part of North America. Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior (HOMES) are the five Great Lakes.

    Huron lies between eastern Michigan and Southeast Ontario, Canada. The lake is conducive for vessels sailing across the ocean. However winter ice present in the shallow parts of the lake, can be deterrent for free passage. The lake is known to be discovered by Samuel de Champlain in the year 1615. The lake is about 330km or 206 miles long with an area of about 59,570 square kilometres. The deepest point of the lake is at 750ft, and the surface elevation is 582 feet above sea level.
