In the UK, the government runs a very open administration system. Except for with certain products, such military hardware or high-tech produce, they will not interfere with the general operation of a company. Companies have no restrictions to what kind of products they would like to produce, how many they want to manufacture, or where they would like their funds to go. The government only cares about the development of related industries, their legal practices and their fund management, and so the operations of UK companies are restricted only by these relevant laws.
Every branch of the government has its own responsibility. The Finance Ministry, the General Headquarters of Foreign Trade, the Foreign Office, HM Customs, etc. all have their own duties to do, and work together to ensure the smooth administration of foreign trade.
