Edward Lincoln was the second son of Abraham Lincoln and he died very young. He died just a month before his second birthday. According to the official record, the cause of death has been recorded as “chronic consumption”. But it is also said that he suffered from “medullary thyroid cancer” that was genetic. He was born on March 10, 1846 and was named after Abraham Lincoln’s friend. In December of 1849, he became very ill and it was thought that he ahd diphtheria but actually it was the cancer and after 52 days of the diseases, Edward passed away on February 1, 1850.
