There are the Iams products that a lot of people say is the best, then there is pedigree. I personally use Meow Mix original blend. It would also depend on how busy and active your kitty is. Mine are active and play a lot. But don't feed him soft food all the time, as cats need the hard food to keep the teeth healthy, and to keep the teeth clean. A soft treat is o.k., but it shouldn't equal more than 1/4 of Kitty's diet. Hope this helps, good luck.

There are several new dry cat foods, I just bought one, that are specially made for indoor cats. Also, make sure you give your kitty wet food. They need the protein and meat and this can help this slim down better than straight dry food, as most dry food has a lot of fillers. Don't let kitty get hooked on McD's. We already know what it does to humans!
