Apples are considered toxic to dogs. The seeds of most fruits contain small amounts of cyanide, which is poisonous to dogs as well as humans. Only some parts of the fruit contain this though; the stem, Seeds and Leaves. They can cause diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain.
Some other fruits that can be toxic to dogs include Apple, Almond, Apricot, Peach, Cherries, Prunes, brocolli, mushrooms, onion,Grapes. The effects of these range from anything from gastro upsets, liver damage, kidney failure and even death.
