Can Human Beings Be Immortal?

Answer Question

It really depends on your definition of immortality. Immortality could be living on in peoples' memories eternally, or walking around in your own  skin until the end of time.

    I like what you're saying:
My dad was a legend, he touched the lives of many, and will be fondly remembered for a long time.
You’re sitting on the edge of a pool or a lake, with your feet dangling in the water. When you get up to leave, though your feet are no longer in the pool, the ripples you've left behind go on for a long time after, growing and spreading across the surface of the water.
My dad lives on through me, the lessons I learned from him, in turned affecting change in the lives of those I meet.

Immortality is a concept that is there in our legends and mythologies. However, as a practical concept, it is a fallacy. There are myths about people living for centuries, but these are merely that – myths. Our body is like a well-tuned machine. It runs on and on, with or without problems for the given life span. However, like all machines that experience 'death', i.e. stoppage of functioning due to wear and tear arising out of continuous usage, the human body too has a certain life span, beyond which it stops functioning as the parts break up and wear out due to non stop functioning.

There are ways and means of prolonging life. The ancient Indian tradition of yoga is considered a good way of increasing your life expectancy. There are also other such life span enhancers in different cultures. However, these do not cause immortality. There is a sense of finiteness about everything in this universe – from micro-organisms like bacteria to macro-organisms like man, and on an even greater dimension. Stars, planets, and suns too have their life spans, and conform to the universal doctrine of 'death'. Therefore, immortality as a myth is a good tale, but in reality is just that, a myth.

No living thing on Earth that we know of lives forever.  There are a lot of people working on finding ways to extend life though.  You'd be best to live like this is your time in the sun.  Do your best to make it worthwhile.

Yes human beings can be immortal , but only in memories ...
A very bitter truth is ," the day the human being is born , it is sure that he/she will die. But , how ,when, why and where, no one can say or predict ......its in the hands of our believing God..."
So have faith in ur religious god and always see to it that u never hurt anyone but always help others and make them happy ! So that u can be immortal in memories of others and be bestowed with good blessings !..
Remember, LIFE IS TOO SMALL AS COMPARED .......SO MAKE THE FULLEST USE OF IT !

        ALL THE BEST.
