Why Can't I Get Through To Unemployment Office?

They no longer have unemployment offices or if your state does they are few and far between. Call 800-638-3995, follow the prompts and when you reach a customer service rep. Tell them what city and state you need a number for that office.  If you already have the number to your local office, then it's because of the new extention, it's making the lines ring off the hook

I live in California and tried for 3 weeks, over 300 phone calls. I sent a certified letter to the central unemployment office and 2 weeks later (yesterday), got a very nice woman who helped start my benefits. Do it, it works.

In New Jersey the website and call in lines have been down on 4/6/09 and 4/7/09. Has the system crashed and when will we be able to file for our benefits (now only have the rest of this week).
