Of course it depends on the individual animal, its genetics, and its care, but horses can live into their early 20s and ponies can live into their late 20s and sometimes early 30s.

Usually close to 30 but with good care they can live to be 35 or even 40 years old.

I had a horse ( granny ) who was 38 and she could still out run most others. She was sold and eventually died at 41, I believe. Also I had a shetland pony (grey ghost) who was over thirty when he died. Also I had a cocker spaniel named (boots) who was 27 years old in human years when grandpa backed over him and killed him. That dog had no teeth and grandma fed him biscuits and gravy every day. I've often wondered how old he would have gotten. Hope this helps.
