Should I Cut Canes On A Flowering Bamboo?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

When the bamboo enters a flowering stage, it enters a dangerous stage. The flowers of bamboo are very rare and grow once in a hundred years. Every few years it is important to cut out the canes of the culms of the bamboo so that the plant stays alive for a long time. It is considered to be a death stage for a bamboo plant when it starts flowering. Canes should be cut and fertilizer should be added at the first sight of flowering. It is recommended to cut the canes to the base level. You can also cut out the canes that are of any size and growing in every direction. It is recommended to thin out the canes first before cutting them completely.
