My hero is mother Theresa of Calcutta. She led her sisters (nuns), in the tackling of poverty with little help or encouragement. She helped to build bridges among different faiths and opened her doors to all who needed her help. She took great personal risks in doing this and asked for nothing for herself. She faced up to popes and politicians alike , and put the plight of the Calcutta poor at their doorsteps. Whether she makes it as a saint or not in this world is irrelevant as i believe she will be reaping her rewards in heaven. I say this because,if mother Theresa doesn't make it then what chance have we. As a person i admired her total devotion and her willingness to involve herself personally in the care of the dying. She refused to delegate to others that which she could do herself. She inspired me to become a special care nurse. I chose this area because it was the most underfunded under staffed and least glamorous areas of nursing ,working with the severely physically and mentally challenged. I also found it the most rewarding on a personal level.
My children for all the accomplishments they have made in their lives, my boss for all the faith and wisdom she has given me and Dee Dee for all the unbearable days she puts up with me
My hero is my national Poet, Allama Iqbal. He is the poet of all times. Through his poetry, he encouraged the people to fight for their rights and won the freedom. He was also the one who proposed the name of the Nation (Pakistan). His poetry is full of lesson. He was the saint of his time.
I have three: First is mother who is no longer with us but even in her death she showed more strength than any other woman I've ever seen, second is my daddy who taught me almost everything I know (I'm a tom-boy and I only have one brother), and third is my husband, he's a soldier, he just came back from Iraq and he still makes our little family the top of his list!
My hero's my dad..he always helps no matter what I'm into and no matter what i did..he's always there to support me and comfort me..I love him very much..plus he can fix anything at home..heheh..that's a true hero..=)
My hero is my wife. Seriously! She is 57 yet gets up every day with good nature even when she doesn't feel good. She goes to work and provides for us. I worked for years, of course, but she and i have only been married/together for 15/18 of those years. I know how unrelenting a work schedule can be, yet she is forever kind and supportive with coworkers and patients. She was made employee of the year so you see this is not just my opinion. She lives her faith yet does not wear it on her sleeve and is very tolerant of other cultures and values. And she has always managed to make me feel very special and very loved; even while being emotionally honest. It takes an heroic nature to do that every day. She embodies and defines a Hero to me.
My hero is my dad ,he is always there for me and helps me when I need the help. Like questions on my car .He tells me what he thinks it is and I go out and fix the problem endless it's something I can't fix w/o his help.
My hero is William Ewart Gladstone, for his integrity, his tireless public service to his country, and the legislation he framed which gave Britain a corruption free constitution for around 150 years.
My heroine is Mrs Margaret Thatcher, for her integrity, her "Two-o'clock courage", leading Britain back from the brink of economic ruin and setting it back on a sound economic basis, and her habit of governing with her eye set on what the country needed, not what would bring her votes.
