Blood cancer is also known as leukaemia. It is a disease in which there is an increase in the number of leucocyte which is a type of white blood cells which causes suppression in the production of white blood cells. This causes increase in the susceptibility to various kinds of diseases like profuse bleeding and anaemia.
  
In blood cancer, there is a severe damage to the bone-marrow as the number of malignant cells increases. There are a number of symptoms associated with blood cancer some of which are as follows, presence of blood particles in urine or stools, easy damage to the skin, swollen lymph nodes, tiredness, weakness, susceptibility to diseases caused from bacterial or viral infections, headaches, rashes and irritation on the skin, bleeding from gums or nose, weight loss which is not related to any normal bodily activity, excruciating pain in the bone, fever, spleen abdominal fullness and chronic fatigue.

Malignant neoplasm of blood-forming tissues; characterized by abnormal proliferation of leukocytes; can be termed as leukemia that literally means 'many white cells in the blood'. It is one of the four major types of cancer. The white cells are part of the body's immune system, and there are several sub-groups of white cells that have different sorts of roles in recognizing and dealing with  the invaders such as bacteria and viruses as well as many other types of foreign protein.

All of the blood cells originate in the bone marrow and leukemia (the blood cancer) is a disease where the bone marrow produces large numbers of abnormal white cells. This clearly tells that the normal marrow is pushed into the smaller and smaller areas. This consequences in fewer normal cells being produced and gives rise to some of the symptoms. It is very possible to have this chronic leukemia for months or even years without knowing it.

The symptoms are varied, but many people notice tiredness (due to anemia), bruising easily (often without having had any blow or fall), repeated infections, enlarged lymph glands, weight loss, night sweats, fever. There are so many types of leukemia, each of which is classified according to the exact cell type affected by the disease.
