What Is The Movie "The Holiday" About?

The movie The Holiday is about two women who are miserable and unhappy with their love lives and decide to house swap.  They both find love in the other's home, friendship and fulfilment follow.

The leads are played by Kate Winslet who is beautiful as ever as her simple and naive British character who ends up living in Cameron Diaz's swanky Los Angeles pad, whilst Diaz gets stuck in Winslet's country cottage, in snowy and boring English village.

I have the slight suspicion that the entire movie was filmed in Hollywood.

Diaz falls for Winslet's brother, the rogue with a secret, played by...well who else Jude Law, and Winslet falls in love with a composer, played... okay, surprisingly by Jack Black, complete with comedy eyebrows.

This is a cheeky little film that gets under the skin and warms the cockles of your heart without you even know it.  Funny and entertaining, worth a watch.
