What Is Jupiters Core Made Of?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Jupiter's core is an earth like rock that's 14-18 times the mass of earth. Approximately 5% of Jupiter's total mass.  The planet's core is made up of layers of metals and rocks along with methane ice, ammonia ice, and water ice.  A metallic ball of iron and nickle, just like earths core is probably at the center of Jupiter's rocky core.  You can obtain more information at www.livescience.com.
