Pride and Prejudice is one of the best novels by Jane Austen. It was published in the year 1813. It was actually written between 1796 and 1797 but was published later.

Mr. Bennet is one of the supporting characters of this novel. He has five daughters and a wife. He is portrayed as an intelligent and bookish person. He is has a strong dislike for the frivolity of his wife and three younger daughters. He is somewhat withdrawn from the society. He makes use of mockery for correction in his family. He is very close to the two elder daughters especially Elizabeth.

Mr bennet was so odd a mixture of quick parts sarcastic humour reserve caprice that the experience of three and twenty years has been insufficient to make his wife understand his character.
