          RAM is the abbreviation for Random Access Memory. This is the computer's temporary operating memory. First you should determine the kind of RAM which is needed for your PC. Ensure that the new RAM matches the specifications and configuration of the already existing RAM. Then shut down the computer but leave it plugged into the surge suppressor. Disconnect all the other peripheral devices and take out the computer cover.

          Access the Ram sockets by removing all the cards and other internal components. Take your SIMM or DIMM and attach them properly. Make sure that they are properly attached. Then pull the module and lock it in position. Replace the internal components and connect all the other devices. Turn on the computer and check the right amount of RAM. Refit the SIMM or DIMM if they are not proper.
