A Windsor knot is a type of knot used by those who want to give off a confident attitude. It is fairly thick and wide and it is triangular in shape. It would be the ideal choice to wear for a job interview, a court appearance or when giving a presentation. It is fairly easy to achieve also and so when wondering how to tie a tie, this would be the best type of knot to try out first.
Basically you should first stand in front of a mirror to make things easier. Then take the wide end of the tie and ensure that it is at least 12 inches long. The thinner part of the tie should be fairly short and once that is right you can begin by crossing the wide part over the narrow part. Next bring the end of the wider section up through the loop which has been created by the tie and place it in front of your shirt. Next put the wide part behind the narrow part of the tie and pull it up through the loop once more before pulling it out to the right. This will cause the wide part of the tie to look like it is inside out. Place it over the front of the tie going from right to left and then finally pull it up through the loop again. Bring the wide end down in front of you and tighten up the knot that has been created.
