What Is The Longest Day Of The Year?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Good question, most people take it for granted, the longest day of the year (summer solstice) occurred on June 21st, at precisely 18:06. This was yesterday.

Some years it occurs on the 20th, and others occur on the 21st, though it's not clear to my why the days change, and they don't change on just the leap years.

The shortest day of the year (winter solstice) is on Dec. 22nd, at 06:08, this time doesn't indicate a.m. or p.m., and the other days that it occurs is the 21st. Hope this helped.
