From Which Club Did Liverpool Football Club Sign Spaniard Xavi Alonso?

    Xabier Alonso was signed for Liverpool by current boss Rafeal Benitez in the summer of two thousand and one from Spanish premiere league club Real Sociedad.  

    Alonso cost the Anfiueld club ten and a half million pounds, and his signing to the club was one of the first tasks of newly appointed Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez, who himself had made the journey to Merseyside from Spain.  

    Alonso was born in Tolosa, Spain in nineteen eighty one and signed for Socieded in nineteen ninety nine.  In his time with the club, he made one hundred and sixteen league appearances, scoring nine league goals.  

    Whilst in Spain, Alonso broke into the Spainish national team, making his début in two thousand and three for his country.  

    To date he has represented his country in both Euro two thousand and four, and also last years world cup finals held in Germany, and has made thirty three international appearances.
