    Network configuration depends on what kind of network you would want. . Suppose if you want to make a Local area network. A server of Windows 2000 and all other computers on Windows xp can work fine. Just make Win 2000 server your domain controller.Give it a private static IP of class C and configure other computers according to that. The most common network IP for server is 192.168.0.1 and the client computers can start from 192.168.0.2 to 255.
