Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The 401(k) plan is a kind of a retirement scheme m which is sponsored by the employer, used mainly in the United States of America and some other nations. It is so named after a part of the United States Internal Revenue Code. This plan lets an employee save money for his or her retirement while postponing income taxes on the money that is saved as well as the earnings up until withdrawal. The employee can choose to have a part of his or her wage deferred directly into his or her 401(k) account.

The most frequently used plans are the participant directed plans in which the employee can choose from several investment choices, generally a selection of mutual funds which focus on stocks, money market investments etc. many organisations offer 401 (k) plans in which the employee can choose to but the company stock.
