      Some European Countries claim they have the real inventor of the telephone which is widely attributed as being the invention of Alexander Graham Bell.

        Alexander Graham Bell was given the patent in 1876, however, Antonio Meucci from Havana actually invented it in 1848 and perfected it by 1871. But was never able patent it. Bell simply beat him to the patent. But Meucci invented it first.
